Caring Candies are not simply "sweets", our "Naturals" range is made using herbs. Herbal remedies have been used for centuries for their medicinal properties. Whilst, Caring Candies do not claim to cure you of your ailments, you may find them useful in relieving some of the associated symptoms. Are your Candies Kosher?
Yes. Caring Candies is the only Diabetic confectionery item to have been certified Kosher by the Union of Orthodox Synogogues of Southern Africa.

What is the Glycaemic Index?
The Glycaemic Index (GI) Factor was developed, whereby foods are ranked on a scale of 0-100, according to their actual effect on blood-glucose levels. Glucose is taken as 100, since it causes the greatest and most rapid rise in blood-glucose levels, and all other foods are rated in comparison to Glucose.
Using the Glycaemic Index (GI) concept, Diabetics, low blood-sugar (Hypoglycaemic) sufferers, children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Sportsmen, can all optimise their blood-glucose control.
For those wanting to LOSE WEIGHT, the increased satiety - and the fact that less INSULIN (A FAT STORER) is secreted by a low-GI diet - results in better fat loss.
Foods with a LOW GI release glucose SLOWLY AND STEADILY into the bloodstream and do not over-stimulate insulin secretion.

Our candies have been given a Glycemic Rating of 9 (very, very low), however, South African Labeling regulations prevents us from disclosing this value on our packaging.

What makes Caring Candies "tooth-friendly".
Caring Candies contain no sugar, aspartame nor saccharine. Our natural sugar replacer (Isomalt) has been shown to reduce dental caries and gum disease!

Most micro-organisms occurring in the oral cavity are unable to feed on Isomalt. So eating CARING CANDIES instead of sweets containing sugar does not cause the release of significant amounts of acid, and the PH remains above the critical level of 5.7

Isomalt also reduces plaque formation as it cannot serve as a structural component of the plaque.

By stimulating saliva production, Isomalt has a remineralising effect (i.e. it helps build dental enamel).

Research has suggested that ISOMALT enhances the positive effects of fluoride.
